This travel and literary book is a work-in-progress on European space and its cultural identity. The writer/ photographer, like a flaneur wanders around Europe and spots details of everyday life and culture of European cities from North and South, East and West. His photos, combined with his stories, produce an explicit result and give birth to a philosophic discussion concerning the modern European identity. To be noted that, before his journey, the writer briefly narrates European history as a children’s game, the «musical chairs», claiming that Emperors, from Charlemagne till nowadays, have tried to accomplish the «European destiny» (to unify the continent under consistent cultural symbols), turning Europe to an «open-air museum», which hopefully, will open again to its public the years to come.

Spyros Paloukis was born in 1980. He is a photographer and writer.
